On Tuesday, February 24 and Thursday, February 26 all high school seniors in Branch County are invited to attend the Cash for College event hosted by the local Community Foundation. Both evenings will be dedicated to discussing available scholarships through the Branch County Community Foundation, walking high school seniors through the online scholarship application process and answering any questions students might have regarding local scholarships and the application process.
Cash for College Night, held at the Branch Area Careers Center, begins each night at 5 p.m. and goes until 7 p.m. Daniela Angevine, vice presidents of programs and operations for the Community Foundation said, “We are excited to host this first time event and provide assistance to our local high school seniors and those currently attending college with our new online scholarship process. Time will be reserved for parents and students who may have questions regarding the Financial Aid process. The remaining time will be used to assist students who are filling out the application on the computers provided by the Career Center.”

The Foundation offers scholarships for those starting college, already in college, and for adults seeking an undergraduate degree. Scholarships are available to students entering fields of business, engineering, nursing, art, music, along with many other career paths. Scholarships through the Branch County Community Foundation are evaluated by a number of factors. Although many students can’t save for college while in high school, those that do still qualify for scholarships and might even improve their chances of receiving a scholarship.
