At the Branch County Community Foundation (BCCF), we realize there are many pieces to the community foundation puzzle. One of the most important (and often misunderstood) pieces is the fund.
So, what is a fund?
A fund at a community foundation is a dedicated account established for charitable giving. Each fund is managed by the foundation on behalf of the donor, allowing you to focus on what matters most, making a lasting difference. With professional management, pooled resources, and strategic investing, these funds are designed to maximize your impact and support your chosen causes for years to come.
Funds can be created for a variety of purposes—supporting local nonprofits, awarding scholarships, funding community projects, or addressing specific areas of interest close to your heart.
At BCCF, we offer several types of funds to meet the unique goals of our donors and the needs of our community:
Unrestricted Funds
These flexible funds allow BCCF to respond to the ever-changing needs of our community, today and in the future.
Donor Advised Funds
With this type of fund, donors remain actively involved by recommending grants to nonprofits of their choice over time.
Field of Interest Funds
Donors select a specific cause or area of interest, such as education, the environment, or the arts, and BCCF ensures the funds go to trusted organizations doing impactful work in that area.
Designated Funds
Support your favorite nonprofit organization(s) forever by setting up a fund that provides annual grants to the organization(s) you choose.
Agency Funds
These are established by nonprofit organizations themselves to build sustainability and long-term support for their mission.
Scholarship Funds
Empower the next generation by creating a scholarship fund that helps students achieve their educational goals.
Each fund type plays a special role in shaping a brighter future for Branch County and beyond. Whether you're an individual, family, business, or nonprofit, there’s a fund that can help you turn your passion into lasting impact.
