Youth Advisory Council Kicks off New Year with New Faces and Community Focus

The Branch County Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is off to an exciting start as members gathered for their first meeting of the new school year.

This year, YAC welcomes seven new members, bringing a fresh perspective and enthusiasm to the group. Together, the council represents students from Bronson, Coldwater, Colon, Union City and Quincy, creating a diverse group of young leaders dedicated to making a positive impact throughout Branch County and Colon.

During the first meeting, members had the opportunity to get to know one another, learn more about the responsibilities of YAC, and begin planning for the year ahead. The students are eager to get started and continue the council’s mission of serving local youth through grantmaking and community engagement.

One of the first major projects of the year will be the rollout of YAC’s Needs Assessment Survey, click here to complete the survey. The survey is conducted every two years; this survey gathers valuable feedback from local students about the issues, challenges, and opportunities they see in their communities. The information collected helps YAC identify priority areas and make informed decisions about the types of grants they will support.
