Meet the 2024 Educational Mini-Grant Recipients: Inspiring Projects and Programs in Education


his year, a total of $12,673.25 was granted from the three educational funds to the 19 different projects and programs

In April, the Branch County Community Foundation (BCCF) held Educational Mini-Grant Cycles for Bronson, Coldwater, and Quincy Schools. The Yes for Bronson Fund, the Coldwater Community Schools Enrichment Fund, and the Quincy Educational Endowment Fund were created to support programs and initiatives that promote excellence in education and high achievement to expand and diversify experiences.

 

We are excited to announce the 2024 Educational Mini-Grant recipients! This year, a total of $12,673.25 was granted from the three educational funds to the 19 different projects and programs that are listed below.

 






Yes for Bronson Fund Recipients- Total of $1,700

  • Cory Champion – Funds will be used for an annual subscription to SoundTrap for the Jr./Sr. Band class, along with the addition of a digital drum kit.

  • Marguerite Duke- Take home supplies for decodable books for Anderson Elementary students to keep the books organized and available to read and re-read throughout the year. There is also a plan to host a workday during the summer to allow students, parents, and alumni to get the codable books ready for the school year.

 

Coldwater Community Schools Enrichment Fund Recipients- Total of $5,233.79

  • Arielle Norris - Funds will be used to add literature for 11-12 grade AP Language and Composition students.

  • Derrick Bean and Amy VanZee - Funds will be used to purchase eclipse ball and disc golf equipment.

  • Janet Breza - Awarded funds to purchase ukuleles for first-grade music class.

  • Rachel Hoard – Awarded funds to purchase coding robots.

  • Keith Johnson – Funds will be used to purchase a 3D modeling camera.

 

Quincy Educational Endowment Fund Recipients- Total of $5,739.46

  • Jennifer Benson - Funds will be used to purchase a 3D Scanner.

  • Corey Harmon - Grant will be used to purchase tokens for The Mileage Club at Jennings Elementary.

  • Kaytlin Tomkins – Awarded funds to purchase graphing calculators.

  • Mary McConnell – Funds will be used to purchase headsets for Kindergarten technology.

  • Morgan Aemisegger – Funds will be used to purchase headphones for 1st Grade.

  • Megan Kempter – Grant will be used to purchase a set of Social Studies Weekly.

  • Beth Karney – Awarded funds to purchase Celebration rewards for students.

  • Beth Karney – Funds will be used to create a calming room area for students.

  • Marcella Newsome – Grant will be used to develop a reading area in the classroom.

  • Theresa Ferree – Funds will be used to purchase headphones for 2nd Grade.

  • Juli Gary – Awarded funds to purchase Math Frog Super Learning Center Game Set.

  • Jenny Rufenacht – Funds awarded for 7th-8th Grade Middle School Girl’s Self-Worth Group.

 

 

The Educational Mini-Grant cycles for Bronson, Coldwater, and Quincy are open in April each year. Each fund has its criteria, which can be found on our website and its selection committee.
